FX Licence Check Kenya: terms of use
Short terms, in plain words: information, not advice - and how the money works.
This is information, not advice
Everything on FX Licence Check Kenya is general information about how forex trading and broker licensing work in Kenya. It is not financial advice, not a recommendation and not an offer. We do not know your income, your obligations or your tolerance for loss, and nothing here is adjusted to them.
Giving investment advice in Kenya is a regulated activity. We are not licensed for it and do not carry it on. If you want advice, take it from someone the CMA authorises to give it.
Where the line runs
- General information about how licensing and trading work
- That is what this site publishes
- A recommendation of a broker, a pair or a position size
- Not here, and not by mail
- Anything adjusted to your income, debts or tolerance for loss
- We do not know them and never ask
- Advice as the CMA defines it
- A regulated activity; we are not licensed for it
If you want advice, take it from someone the CMA authorises to give it.
How this site is paid for
Some outbound links to brokers are partner links: if you open an account through one, we may be paid by the broker. You pay nothing extra, and the payment changes nothing on this site. The register extract is copied from the regulator, and no firm can pay to appear in it, to be removed from it or to have its status described differently.
Every partner link is marked as sponsored in the markup and sits behind a label that says where it goes. We do not sell editorial placement, and we do not rank brokers.
| What it is | How it is marked | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| A partner link to a broker | Marked sponsored, behind a label saying where it goes | The broker may pay us if you open an account |
| The register extract | Copied from the regulator | Nobody can pay to be in it, out of it, or described differently |
| Everything else on the page | Not for sale | No editorial placement, no paid ranking |
You pay nothing extra for using a partner link, and the payment changes nothing on the page.
Accuracy, and its limits
Registers change daily, brokers change their terms, and a page is a snapshot of the day it was written. We date what we publish and say where it came from so you can check it at the source, which is the only version that is current.
We do not warrant that the site is complete, error-free or uninterrupted. Where a figure matters to a decision about money, check it against the CMA register or the broker's own documents before you act on it.
| What | How it ages | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The CMA register extract | Changes whenever the regulator updates it | Re-read it at cma.or.ke before you deposit |
| A broker's terms and fees | Change without notice | The broker's own documents are the current version |
| Session hours | Shift by an hour when London and New York change clocks | The page says which period it shows |
| USD/KES | Moves every trading day | Indicative only; your broker converts at its own rate |
The site is a snapshot dated on the page. Where a figure decides something about money, check it at the source.
Trading risk
Leveraged forex and CFD trading can lose you more than a small share of your deposit, quickly. Most retail accounts lose money. A licence means a firm is supervised; it does not mean your money is safe from trading losses, and no page on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise.
Supervision and solvency are different questions from whether a position goes against you. A CMA licence speaks to how a firm must hold client money, report and handle complaints; it says nothing about the market. The arithmetic below is the part that decides how long a position survives, and it is the same at every broker: leverage sets the margin, and the margin sets how small a move takes it.
| Leverage | Margin the position needs | Cost of a 1% adverse move |
|---|---|---|
| No leverage (1:1) | 100% of the position | 1% of your margin |
| 1:10 | 10% of the position | 10% of your margin |
| 1:30 | 3.33% of the position | 30% of your margin |
| 1:100 | 1% of the position | 100% of your margin |
| 1:500 | 0.2% of the position | 500% of your margin |
The market does not have to be wrong about you for long. Whether your balance can fall below zero depends on the firm's margin close-out and negative balance terms and on the rules it trades under — read those before you fund an account.
Other people's sites
We link to regulators, exchanges, central banks and brokers. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what they publish, and a link is not an endorsement - least of all when we link to a warning about a firm.
The links that matter most here are the ones to the CMA register and to a broker's own terms, because those are the documents that decide the question, and ours is only a reading of them. Where this site and the source disagree, the source is right and we want to hear about it.
What a link from here means
- Regulators, central banks and exchanges
- Cited as the source of a figure — never an endorsement
- A warning notice about a firm
- Linked because it exists, not because we agree or disagree
- A broker
- Partner link, marked sponsored, through this domain's own redirect
- Anything else we link
- We do not control it and are not responsible for what it publishes
A link is a pointer to a source, and the source is the version that is current.
Using what is here
Read it, print it, quote it with a link back. Do not republish whole pages as your own, and do not scrape the site to rebuild it elsewhere. The register extracts come from public records and belong to nobody; the writing around them is ours.
Questions about reuse, and anything else about these terms: contact@mpesafxtradeke.com.
| Step | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · You write | The page address and what the correct value is | Any time |
| 2 · We check it | Against the public source you name, not against our own page | Same week |
| 3 · The page changes | The figure is replaced and the page says it was corrected | With the date on it |
A number is never quietly edited to leave the page looking as though it always said that.
